After being disused for years, the former Van de Ven site in Belgian Olen will find a new life as Shopping Park Olen. The new shopping centre, along the E313 Antwerpen-Liège, will open officially this autumn, but Decathlon has just announced they will open their 4400m² store on 1 June.
Developers Aertssen and Cordeel confirm that almost 90% of the available 35,000 m² shopping space has been taken. The 27 available stores, ranging from 360 to 5000m², will be occupied by retail giants like Krëfel, Fun, Kruidvat, Standaard Boekhandel, Brantano, Pearle and Damart.
The park will be built around a green, car-free square with a few ponds. After the official opening of the first part, construction of a second phase will start.
